Domestic Staff Background Checks
Comprehensive screening of criminal, professional, and social background indicators to assess reliability and support safer household hiring decisions.
Scope of Work
Our Domestic Staff Background Checks service provides a comprehensive, multi-dimensional review designed to support safer and more reliable hiring decisions before an individual begins working within a private household. The service includes detailed checks across criminal, professional, and social factors using lawful and credible legal, digital, and field-based sources in the worker's country of residence or nationality.
The process begins with a review of available criminal and legal records to identify any known convictions, absconding reports, or cases involving dishonesty, breach of trust, or other relevant concerns. The professional review may include verification of previous employment, reasons for leaving prior roles, and reference checks with former employers where available, helping assess the accuracy of the individual's stated experience and work history.
The assessment may also cover relevant social and behavioral indicators, including publicly available information and the verification of submitted documents such as identity documents, passports, and residence permits. Where appropriate and legally permissible, we also assess potential risk indicators that may affect suitability, reliability, or household safety. All checks are conducted within the applicable legal framework and with appropriate protection of personal data. A final report is provided to support a more informed, fact-based hiring decision.
Requirements
To begin, we require accurate basic information about the worker, including full name, nationality, and current or most recent place of residence. Please also provide clear scanned copies of the worker's passport, national identity document or identification number, and residence permit or visa where applicable. These documents can be uploaded directly through your Nomakkin account.
Where available, please also provide contact information such as a phone number and relevant social media profiles, together with details of previous employers, including names or contact numbers. You should also specify the intended role, such as nanny, housekeeper, driver, or home caregiver, and highlight any particular concerns you would like the review to focus on so the scope can be tailored to your requirements.
Estimated Timeline
The estimated turnaround time varies depending on the worker's nationality, previous places of employment, and the responsiveness of relevant sources and field verification channels in the country being reviewed.
For Greater Cairo and Alexandria, the estimated turnaround time is typically 3 to 5 business days. For other governorates in Egypt, it is generally 4 to 7 business days. For workers based in Gulf countries, the estimated timeframe is approximately 6 to 10 business days. For Southeast Asian countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka, the process may take 10 to 15 business days. For African countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda, the estimated timeframe is approximately 12 to 18 business days, depending on local procedures and data availability.
All timelines are estimates and may vary depending on documentation, source availability, and field verification requirements.
Service Fees
Pricing is determined based on the geographic scope and the nationality or country of residence of the worker being screened, as verification fees, data access, and field investigation costs vary across jurisdictions.
